- Mother Teresa declared as a patron Saint of Calcutta by The Vatican. The honor came after 16months of the Pope Franciss declaration. Franciss declared her a saint who dedicated her life to the poorest of the poor.
First Hyperloop of India coming in Andhra Pradesh
- The first Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT) is coming in Andhra Pradesh.
- HTT and Andhra Pradesh signed an agreement. The Journey of Vijaywada and Amarawati could be 5-minutes ride after the completing of project.
Gyankunj Project launched in Schools of Gujarat
- Gyankunj project with Rs. 35.85 crore has been launched by Gujarat Government.
- The amount will spend in making of 3173 class rooms of standard 7th and 8th of 1609 schools.
International Literacy Day celebrated on 8th September

- The day was declared by UNESCO on 17 November 1965.
- The aim of the declaration is to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies.
- UNESCO organized a two day program on literacy day at its Headquarter in Paris.
Subsidized food scheme launched by Gujarat
- Gujarat government launched a subsidized food scheme for construction workers with the name of Shramik Annapoorna Yojana.
- Under the scheme, each registered worker will be provided a plateful of food for a mere Rs.10.
